Ski Vacation

We went to Beach Mountain for a family ski trip on December 15th,  Skied on the 16th, 17th and the 18th, and left on the 19th.  It might seem short, but added all together we did very much.  We decided to take the both cars, because Daddy's had four wheel drive and the van does not.  Mamma rode in Daddy's car by herself which was full of luggage, and Daddy drove the van, which was full of children and luggage.  Everything looked fine with the roads hardly snowy at all.  But our house was right by the slopes and as soon as we were almost there, the van couldn't go any father.  The roads had suddenly gotten snowy because the snow guns were blowing on to the road.  Daddy started backing down, but Mamma kept on going (remember, the car Mamma was in had four wheel drive.)  As Daddy was backing down Mamma called him saying she was completely stuck.  She couldn't go up and she couldn't go down.  So Daddy backed the rest of the way down the hill and began to walk up again to Mamma telling us he would be back again in about twenty minuets.

Daddy finally reached Mamma and he started helping her get unstuck.  It took a while but finally Daddy got her out and they drove to the house, unloaded and after about an hour and ten minuets Daddy came and brought us to the house with some more luggage.  After we unloaded that at the house, Daddy and the five oldest children went and got the rest of the luggage and stopped by Fred's to pick up some sleds.  The next morning we rented skis and skied and skied and skied!  On the third day while the Cockmans were stopping by to prepare there house for the next renters, so they stopped in for lunch since their house was right down the hill.  Here are pictures from the trip.

The glass Santa broke on the second day.

There were lots of card games.

The sledding was great because the slope in front of our house was closed.
