The newest addtions to the family

Two goats, two pigs, and Hazel has hatched her chicks!

The goats are both females and there names are Sugar and Snowflake.  We got bought them from Gary Reagan who has a beautiful farm near our house where we also bought a baby pig named Pee-wee.  Before we got the goats and the pig we had bought a pig from the Humane Society named Billy.  Billy and Pee-wee are best friends now and are living peacefully in a pen near the goats pen.
 Hazel is very proud of her family of five chicks.  She has a big job watching them all but she is doing a wonderful job.

A mamma at last

Hazel had been wanting really badly to hatch some eggs but none of our roosters were big enough to fertilize her eggs.  Even when we stole the eggs our of under her she would sit on nothing wanting so bad to be a mamma.  Finally we got some fertilized eggs for her (12 of them,) and she is sitting  on them very satisfied.  Lord willing she will soon hatch them and have some babies of her own! :)

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills-
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip-
he who watches over you will not
             slumber;
indeed, he who watches over
             Israel
well neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you-
the Lord is your shade at your
           right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all
                     harm-
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your
    coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Just an update

 It's Wednesday night and we just got back from our trip to Tennessee.  It was very fun visiting Granddaddy and Uncle Edward.  These are just a few pictures from before our trip.

This is Amy.

This is Moses and Dotty, but in the background Sam just happens to be flying up on to the perch so his wings look really neat.

The Story Sarah wrote

Yesterday Lizzie sat down at the computer with Sarah Jane.  Sarah told her what to write and she typed it all down.  (Sarah is only three and gets lots of funny ideas.)

Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Little Red Riding Hood

By Sarah Jane White

The wolf ate Grandmother.  The wolf ate Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother.  But Little Red Riding Hood got out her holster, she was wearing a belt with a pistol and a holster, and the pistol was cocked, and she shot the wolf.  She tore the wolf open and shot the wolf open and got Grandmother.  I had a dream that Grandmother was alive.  She is alive.  She shot the wolf open, and Grandmother was alive.  They had wolf stew for supper.  And fox stew for supper.  A fox was going to eat Little Red Riding Hood, and one of her bullets stuck to the fox’s shoulder and the wolf was bleeding and dead.  And the fox was bleeding and dead.  And she twisted their paws.

Our Little chicks aren't that little anymore!

Our chicks have moved outside and are really growing fast.  They always seem to find ways to get out of there pen, and it's really hard to get them back in.  But they are so cute and when you settle them on your shoulder you can just cuddle them with your cheek.  Our tamest are Bobby our rooster, and Tamie.  Bob doesn't really like being held but Tamie loves it.  Bobby just likes eating scratch out of our hands.  Hey!........................................Gee, Yah!...............................................Get! Gee, shoo! ..................................Yah! ..........................................................Shoo!............. Get in there!.. ....

Whoo!  Sorry about that!  All the noise you just heard was us herding about all 25 of our little chickies back in to the pen.  Someone had left the pen door wide open and they were all up and in the woods, around the pen, and the bolder ones wandering in to the orchard.  It was hard work getting them back in!

And to get back to what I was saying, Bobby isn't that fond of being held. Here are a couple pictures of our chicks.

Bob is the brown and white one with his leg up.

This is Tamie. She is the tamest.

Tamie is always on the alert.

This is baby, the smallest of them all.

Hello Tamie!
When these white ones were little they were yellow.

I think this one is one of the prettiest.

No I am the prettiest!!!

Hazel!
